Abstract
Evaluation of the factors influencing the satisfaction of patients with removable partial dentures: about a Tunisian retrospective study

Aim: Satisfaction can be seen as a result of care and even an element of health status. In this sense, its evaluation is inseparable from the concept of life quality in relation to oral health. This study was conducted to evaluate patients’ satisfaction with removable partial dentures in the dental clinic of Monastir and to explore the factors influencing their degree of satisfaction.
Patients and Methods: Sixty-four patients with 100 removable partial dentures were included in this study. A questionnaire was prepared to investigate the patients’ satisfaction and the factors that may influence it. Statistical analysis of the data was performed using the Pearson Khi² and the Fisher test with a significant p value < 0.05.
Results: The overall satisfaction of our patient was 75%. Significant associations were recorded between the general patients' satisfaction and dentures longevity (p = 0.019), educational level (p = 0.014), psychological profile (p = 0.001) and the quality of dentures (p = 0.002). There was also a correlation between masticatory satisfaction and the edentulism class (p = 0.011) and material (p = 0.009).
Conclusion: Satisfaction in removable partial dentures is multifactorial: In addition to the quality of dentures based on the respect of the principles of prosthetic conception, other factors related to patients also intervene.
