Introduction : L’analyse des traces de morsures joue un rôle très important dans l’identification des personnes dans le cadre des enquêtes médico-légales. A travers un cas clinique, nous détaillerons les différentes étapes suivies par l’odontologiste, depuis la constatation d’une trace de morsure jusqu’à la détermination de son auteur.
Observation : Il s’agit d’un cadavre de sexe masculin âgé de 23 ans qui a été victime de plaies par arme blanche conduisant à son décès. A l’examen externe du cadavre, on a noté la présence de deux lésions de morsure. Dans cette affaire, deux suspects (X1 et X2) de sexe masculin, ont étaient incriminés.
Discussion : L’étude des modèles en plâtre et la superposition des calques ont permis d’affirmer une identification négative définitive du suspect X1 et identification positive définitive du suspect X2.
Conclusion : L’odontologiste est devenu un maillon indispensable de la chaîne des spécialistes et experts dans l’investigation et l’identification.
Introduction: The analysis of bite marks plays a very important role in the identification of people in the framework of forensic investigations. Through a clinical case, we will detail the different stages followed by the odontologist, since the observation of '' a trace of bite until the determination of its author.
Observation: It is a 23-year-old male corpse which was victim of stab wounds leading to his death. An external examination of the corpse noted the presence of two bite lesions. In this case, two male suspects (X1 and X2) were accused.
Discussion: The study of the plaster models and the overlapping of the layers made it possible to confirm a definitive negative identification of the suspect X1 and definitive positive identification of the suspect X2.
Conclusion: The odontologist has become an essential link in the chain of specialists and experts in investigation and identification.
