Résumé

La cryptococcose neuroméningée est une des plus fréquentes affections opportunistes cérébrales, connue pour son mauvais pronostic chez les patients vivant avec le VIH. La thrombophlébite cérébrale en est une complication rare. Nous rapportons un cas de cryptococcose neuroméningée compliqué de thrombophlébite du sinus latéral droit chez une patiente de 32 ans infectée par le VIH, reçue dans un tableau de céphalées et de trouble du comportement. La patiente avait bien évolué sous traitement antifongique associé à un anticoagulant.

Cryptococcal meningoencephalitis complicated with cerebral thrombophlebitis in HIV infected patient

Cryptococcal meningoencephalitis is one of the most common opportunistic infections, known for
its poor prognosis in HIV infected patients. This condition is an infrequent cause of cerebral venous thrombosis. We report a case of cryptococcal meningoencephalitis complicated by thrombosis of the right transverse sinus in a 32-year-old HIV-infected patient, who presented for headache and behavioral disorder. The patient was successfully treated with antifungal and anticoagulant therapy.
