The diagnostic of autoimmune hepatitis remains difficult in low-income countries. We report two cases of autoimmune hepatitis. The first case was autoimmune type 1 and the second was seronegative autoimmune hepatitis. The diagnostic of the two cases was made on the basis of clinical, biological, radiological and immunological criteria associated with a favorable outcome under trial corticosteroid therapy and a relapse upon discontinuation of this therapy. Our patients were put on corticosteroids/ azathioprine. Remission was objectified in our two patients. Our objective was to describe the difficulty in diagnostic and management autoimmune hepatitis in Madagascar.
