This study has for purpose the evaluation of the frequency of inter-dental disharmony in a Moroccan population via the BOLTON index.
Using image processing of their dental moulds, the BOLTON index was measured in 30 patients at the Dentol-Facial Orthopedics Department of Rabat.
It results that a high percentage of patients was outside the 2 SD BOLTON interval. Several patients presented significant disharmony that could affect their orthodontic treatments and should be taken into consideration while establishing the proper treatment.

The aim of the study was to assess the effect of academic stress on periodontal health. The experimental group consisted of 22 final year dental students preparing for a major final BDS examination. The control group was made of 29 first year dental clinical students who were not preparing for any examination. Informed consents were obtained from all the students who participated in the study. The study was double blind as the examiners and the students were not aware of the aim of the study at the examination stage. The baseline measurements of Oral Hygiene Index (OHI) and Gingival Index (GI) were done 6 weeks prior to the commencement of the final BDS examination for both the experimental and the control groups. Statistical significant differences were observed in the two indices at final reading, between experimental and control groups while the baseline scores for the indices revealed no statistical significant differences. The results indicate that non-demonstrable factors like psychosocial stress represent a risk indicator for periodontal disease and these should be addressed in periodontal patients before and during treatment.

The authors propose to materialize the corono-radicular axes of the teeth starting from their centre of gravity. This last is calculated with the data of the matrix of inertia resulting from the segmentation from tomodensitometric cuts (TDM).
The sample is composed of 37 subjects (16 women and 21 men) old from 15 to 65 years, pertaining to a orthomorphic population.
The helicoid acquisition of the data is carried out by an apparatus CT Twin Flash (Elscint Haïfa, Israel) on the subjects in decubitus dorsal under 120 kV with 100 mAs. The software C2000 allows the building of the maxillo-facial frame 8 points which becomes the absolute reference mark of the study. The same software allows by thresholding the selection of the teeth on the native cuts. The calculation of their axis of inertia makes it possible to materialize their barycen-tre. It becomes thus possible to visualize the position and the orientation of each tooth inside the maxillo-facial frame and the intra-reports/ratios and inter-arcades.
The observations which result from this, introduce interrogations as for the relevance of certain dogmas occlusodontic.

Auteurs : C.O.
This paper attempted to compare some of the other occlusal variations in the primary dentition of the children from the 3 major ethnic groups in Nigeria cross-sectional epidemiological study involving two major cities in Nigeria.
269, 3-5 year-old children from the 3 major ethnic groups in Nigeria consisting of 125 (46,5 %) males and 144 (53,6 %) females selected from pre-primary schools/centres. Only children with confirmed ages were included in the study and the criteria of Foster and Hamilton were used in assessing the occlusal features.
Although some ethnic differences were observed in relation to the assessed occlusal features, overjet, overbite, cross bite, scissors bite and midline relationship, none was found to be statistically significant (P > 0,05).
The occlusal features among the children from the ethnic groups do not differ significantly. Prospective longitudinal study could be worthwhile in further understanding their occlusal developments.

The aim of this study was to compare hydroxyl ions diffusion from various calcium hydroxide forms : Hycal® (1), Roeko® points (2) and aqueous suspension placed in the pulpar chamber (3) or in the root canal (4). These experiments were con-ducted with bovine incisors in order to obtain quantitative evaluation. 540 lateral cavities, deep and superficial, were created in root dentin to measure the hydroxyl ions diffusion with a color indicator, the Blue epsilon With Hycal® and aqueous suspension the diffusion of the OH- is obtained in the superficial cavities situated in the coronal part at 14 days (1 = 72 % ; 3 = 44 % ; 4 = 100 %, (n = 18)). In the apical part of the canal this phenomenon is never complete at 21 days (1 = 17 % ; 3 = 22 % ; 4 = 17 %, (n= 18)). No diffusion was observed with the Roeko® points (the first generation).
