La prise en charge prothétique d(un patient édenté a pour objectif d(optimiser les fonctions rudimentaires de la mastication et de la phonation. Connaître les procédures routinières en odontologie est nécessaire. Ces prothèses peuvent être source de critiques en termes de la qualité de vie qu'elles procurent. Chronologiquement, plusieurs étapes doivent être respectées lors de sa livraison :
La complémentarité de ces étapes conditionne l'intégration de la prothèse, mais le patient doit être informé dès le début du traitement des limites fonctionnelles et esthétiques de sa future prothèse.
