Résumé

La prise en charge prothétique d(un patient édenté a pour objectif d(optimiser les fonctions rudimentaires de la mastication et de la phonation. Connaître les procédures routinières en odontologie est nécessaire. Ces prothèses peuvent être source de critiques en termes de la qualité de vie qu'elles procurent. Chronologiquement, plusieurs étapes doivent être respectées lors de sa livraison :

1. Réception au cabinet dentaire de la prothèse, accompagnée de sa fiche technique,
2. Vérifications méticuleuses des surfaces prothétiques,
3. Introduction dans la cavité buccale des prothèses en douceur,
4. La stabilité des prothèses est testée dans un premier temps,
5. Dans un deuxième temps l'occlusion est contrôlée,
6. Le rendu esthétique de la prothèse précédemment entériné lors des essayages, est à nouveau apprécié,
7. Des tests phonétiques sont effectués pour permettre de vérifier le positionnement des dents par rapport aux lèvres,
8. Des tests permettant de juger de la possibilité de déglutir, d'inciser et de mordre au niveau des dents cuspidées sont effectués par le patient,
9. Vérifier l'harmonisation du montage avec l'ensemble du visage,
10. Respecter les recommandations pour un bon usage de la prothèse.

La complémentarité de ces étapes conditionne l'intégration de la prothèse, mais le patient doit être informé dès le début du traitement des limites fonctionnelles et esthétiques de sa future prothèse.

Removable prosthesis insertion steps: controls-qualifications

Support a prosthetic edentulous patient aims to optimize the rudimentary functions of mastication and phonation. Knowing the routine procedures in dentistry is needed. These prostheses can be a source of criticism in terms of the quality of life they provide. Chronologically, several steps must be followed when delivered:

1. Reception at the dental office of the prosthesis, with its technical specifications,
2. Meticulous checks prosthetic surfaces,
3. Introduction in the oral cavity of dentures smoothly,
4. The stability of the prosthesis is tested initially,
5. Second occlusion is checked,
6. The esthetic of the prosthesis previously endorsed in the fittings, is popular again,
7. Phonetic tests are performed to help verify the positioning of the teeth in relation to the lips,
8. Tests for judging the ability to swallow, to incise and biting at the posterior teeth are made by the patient,
9. Check alignment of mounting the entire face,
10. Follow the recommendations for proper use of the prosthesis.

The complementarily of these steps determines the integration of the prosthesis, but the patient must be informed early in the treatment of functional and aesthetic limits of its future prosthesis.
