Résumé

Introduction : Les tissus mous faciaux recouvrent les dents et le squelette facial ; entretiennent d’étroits rapports anatomiques avec eux et peuvent néanmoins varier dans leur morphologie et leur position. L’objectif de cette étude était de déterminer les corrélations entre les mensurations des tissus mous faciaux et celles des tissus durs crânio-faciaux.
Matériels et méthodes : Une étude descriptive transversale a été réalisée à partir de clichés téléradiographiques et photographiques standardisés issus de jeunes enfants venus consulter pour des soins orthodontiques. Sur chaque sujet sélectionné, des mensurations céphalométriques et photogrammétriques ont été faites. Les données recueillies ont été analysées grâce au logiciel statistique IBM SPSS 20.0. La corrélation entre les mensurations céphalométriques des tissus durs et les mensurations photogrammétriques des tissus mous a été recherchée par une corrélation de Pearson. La signification était fixée à p = 0,05.
Résultats : ANB était significativement et positivement corrélé à Sn-N’-Sm. I/A-Pog était significativement et positivement corrélée à Ls-E et Li-E. Des corrélations significatives et positives ont été trouvées entre la position du pogonion et Sn-H. Il en est de même entre la position du point A et la distance Trg-Sn ; et entre S-Ar et les variables N’-Sn et N’-Me’. Ar-Go était aussi significativement et positivement corrélée à Sn-Me’, Sn-Sts et N’-Me’.
Conclusion : Les nombreuses corrélations significatives et positives trouvées entre les variables céphalométriques et photogrammétriques montrent que ces dernières pourraient avantageusement être utilisées pour évaluer des variables squelettiques et dentoalvéolaires. Ceci permettrait de limiter les risques non-négligeables de rayonnements ionisants.

Abstract
Correlations between cephalometric measurements of hard tissues and photogrammetric characteristics of facial soft tissues

Introduction: Facial soft tissues cover the teeth and the facial skeleton; maintain close anatomical relations with them and may nevertheless vary in their morphology and position. The objective of this study was to determine the correlations between soft facial tissue measurements and craniofacial hard tissue measurements.
Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was performed using standardized teleradiographic and photographic images of young children who had come for orthodontic care. On each selected subject, cephalometric and photogrammetric measurements were made. The data collected was analyzed using the IBM SPSS 20.0 statistical software. The correlation between hard tissue cephalometric measurements and photogrammetric soft tissue measurements was investigated by a Pearson correlation. The significance was fixed at p = 0.05.
Results: ANB was significantly and positively correlated to Sn-N’-Sm. I / A-Pog was significantly and positively correlated with Ls-E and Li-E. Significant and positive correlations were found between the position of the pogonion and Sn-H. It is the same between the position of point A and Trg-Sn distance; and between S-Ar and the variables N’-Sn and N’-Me ‘. Ar-Go was also significantly and positively correlated to Sn-Me ‘, Sn-Sts and N’-Me’.
Conclusion: The many significant and positive correlations found between cephalometric and photogrammetric variables show that these could advantageously be used to evaluate skeletal and dentoalveolar variables. This would limit the significant risks of ionizing radiation during orthodontic treatment.
