Auteurs : C. Assouan, G.J. Ouattara, A. Salami, K. Azagoh - Côte d'Ivoire
Introduction: The authors report their experiment of the use of Mag2® drinkable phial without sugar, as supplement in magnesium for hyperactive children.
Methodology: This is a descriptive and prospective study led over 6 months from October 2011 to March 2012 into three schools of Abidjan’s district. This study concerned 112 children, 5 to 12 year-old, who presented disorders of the attention and hyperactivity, with a magnesium deficiency (blood serum and red blood cell). The children were in two groups, A and B, of 56 children each. The contribution in magnesium was made by administration of drinkable Mag2® without sugar, with the dose of 244mg per day (1 phial in the morning and 1 phial in the evening) to the children of the group A. The children of the group B constituted the referent group. A clinical examination with a magnesium blood dosage was made at the end of the treatment to every child.
Results: In the group of children having received the supplementation in magnesium (group A) we noted an increase of the magnesium content in the blood serum and the significant decrease of hyperactivity compared with the referent group (group B).
Conclusion: the regular supplementation in magnesium enables to reduce in a significant way the child hyperactivity.
