Publié dans Médecine d'Afrique Noire 6006 - Juin 2013 - pages 251-255
Auteurs : J.M. Yeo-Tenena, N.D. N’Guessan, M.S.P. Konan, T.A. Salami, M. Ovoundard, E. Konan - Côte d'Ivoire
Introduction: The authors report their experiment in using pidolate of magnesium by oral route (MAG2® drinkable phial without sugar) in the alcohol withdrawal.
People and method: This is a prospective and descriptive study involving 38 alcoholic patients who received MAG2®, drinkable phial without sugar, for 10 months, associated with the main treatment (Diazepam and Thiamine for the alcoholic weaning and Acamprosate to help the preservation of abstinence). The assessment criterion was the reduction of the intensity of the withdrawal syndrome and the presence or not of the relapse.
Results: Our study involved 38 well-known alcoholic patients, regularly followed, dispatched within 32 men (84,21%) and 6 women (15,79%) with a sex ratio of 5.33. Patients average age was 28.6 years with extremes between 16 to 46 years. 86.4% of our patients followed an ambulatory withdrawal.
Conclusion: Pidolate of magnesium (Mag2® drinkable phial without sugar) gave us total satisfaction in the alcohol withdrawal.
