Résumé

Un abcès rétropharyngé est une accumulation de pus à l’arrière de la gorge. Il constitue une entité bien connue chez l’enfant mais peut survenir également chez l’adulte. Nous rapportons un cas d’abcès rétropharyngé secondaire à l’ingestion d’un corps étranger à type d’arête de poisson. Le diagnostic avait été suspecté par la clinique et confirmé par la tomodensitométrie cervicale. La patiente avait bénéficié d’un drainage chirurgical et d’une antibiothérapie. Les suites opératoires étaient simples.

Summary
Retropharyngeal abscess secondary to a fishbone foreign body. A case report

A retropharyngeal abscess is an accumulation of pus at the back of the throat. It is a well-known entity in children but can also occur in adults. We report a case of retropharyngeal abscess secondary to ingestion of a fishbone foreign body. The diagnosis was clinically suspected and confirmed by cervical CT scan. The patient underwent surgical drainage and antibiotic therapy. Post-operative management was simple.
