Résumé

Nous rapportons le cas d’une patiente présentant une symptomatologie clinique typique de phéochromocytome surrénalien, prise en charge à Libreville (Gabon) et étant décédée dans l’attente de la confirmation biologique réalisée en France. Après avoir rappelé les différentes étapes diagnostiques, nous discutons de l’attitude à adopter quant à la prise en charge d’une telle pathologie dans notre pays.

Summary
Treatment of the pheochromocytoma in the developing countries: Do we need to wait for the biologic confirmation before surgery ?

We report the case of a young woman presenting a typical clinical symptomatology of pheochromocytoma of the left adrenal gland, treated in Libreville (Gabon) and who died because of the delay to obtain the biological confirmation which was realized in France. After reminding the stages of diagnosis, we discuss the attitude that must be adopted for the treatment of such pathology in our country.
